Software Update 2.1.3: Immersive Monitoring Comes to NOVA

With software version 2.1.3, NOVA takes a major step forward with the introduction of Immersive mode, expanding the platform to support monitoring systems up to 7.1.4 / 12 optimized channels via Dante.

For existing users, the upgrade path is deliberately simple. A NOVA with 8 licensed Optimizer channels automatically unlocks up to 12 optimized channels when operating in immersive mode. This means a NOVA 6 user only needs one additional OPT2-NOVA upgrade to reach a full 7.1.4 configuration.

Built for Immersive Production Workflows

Immersive mode is designed for professional monitoring environments, including production, mixing, mastering and quality-control applications.

It supports configurations up to 7.1.4, using Dante audio inputs, with a maximum sample rate of 48 kHz. One speaker set is available in immersive mode, and a dedicated immersive preset is created directly through the NOVA Wizard.

NOVA does not decode Dolby Atmos itself. Instead, it optimizes the discrete audio channels provided by the renderer or DAW through Dante, allowing it to integrate naturally into existing immersive production workflows.

More Channels in Standard Monitoring Mode

Immersive audio is not the only major addition in version 2.1.3.

The standard monitoring mode has also been expanded from 6 to 8 optimized channels, giving users greater flexibility even when they are not working in an immersive configuration.

Improved Clock Management

Version 2.1.3 introduces new Dante and internal clock-management behavior, designed to make system synchronization more predictable and easier to manage in complex digital-audio environments.

This is particularly valuable in Dante-based studios where reliable clocking is essential across multiple connected devices.

Automatic Bass Management Recompute

NOVA can now automatically recompute bass management between speaker sets.

This is especially useful in monitoring environments where multiple configurations share the same loudspeakers, helping maintain appropriate alignment between satellites and subwoofers when changing speaker sets.

More Control Directly from NOVA

System operation has also become more convenient.Users can now reboot or shut down NOVA directly from the interface, with support for assigning these functions to La Remote as well.

A new Auto Start function can automatically restart NOVA when power is restored, making it particularly useful in studios and installations where equipment is controlled through centralized power-management systems.

Faster Calibration and Target Curve Workflows

Calibration graphs are now directly accessible from the Wizard, allowing users to review the results of a calibration without leaving the setup process.

Target Curve editing has also been improved, with keyboard control allowing adjustments in increments as precise as 0.1 dB.

Together, these additions make configuration and fine-tuning faster and more intuitive.

A Straightforward Path to 7.1.4

For existing NOVA owners, version 2.1.3 creates a particularly compelling upgrade path:

NOVA 2 → NOVA 4 → NOVA 6 → NOVA 8 / 12 channels in immersive mode.

For a NOVA 6 customer, adding a single OPT2-NOVA license pair is now enough to optimize a complete 7.1.4 monitoring system.

With expanded channel capacity, immersive monitoring, improved system management, and a range of workflow refinements, NOVA 2.1.3 significantly broadens the applications NOVA can address, particularly for smaller and mid-sized immersive production rooms built around Dante.

Software Update 2.1.3 makes immersive monitoring more accessible, while keeping the simplicity and flexibility that define the NOVA platform.
