Wolfgang Linhard of MY SOUND in Starnberg, Germany has been part of the Trinnov family for years. His showrooms have long been built around Trinnov processors, and his approach to cinema design, combining rigorous acoustic engineering with a genuine instinct for real-world listening pleasure, is exactly the kind of work we enjoy documenting.
Earlier this year, we paid him a visit and published our second interview with him, a conversation about his philosophy of cinema design and what he looks for in a processor. That system was already a strong statement. What Wolfgang has done since raises the bar further.
The showroom has been rebuilt and upgraded to incorporate WaveForming, Trinnov's exclusive active bass technology. Where the previous configuration demonstrated what the Altitude ecosystem can achieve in a well-treated room, this new cinema puts WaveForming at its center: eight subwoofers deployed in two arrays, working together to actively shape and control low-frequency behavior rather than simply correcting for it. Precise & immersive Speaker Layout
Anchoring the system are three Ascendo THE15Be front speakers each equipped with uncompromising beryllium tweeters. Their transparency and dynamic precision reveal every nuance in the soundtrack, delivering an emotionally truthful soundstage that feels immediate and lifelike. The front speakers are actively driven by the Ascendo DSP ULN2 utilizing advanced FIR filtering for absolute phase accuracy. Transients arrive with surgical precision maintaining clarity even at extreme dynamics. Nothing smears nothing lags. Every impulse is delivered exactly as intended.
To complement the LCRs, six Ascendo THE12Be surround speakers and four THE12Be Wedge Atmos speakers creating a fully enveloping three dimensional sound field. Sound no longer arrives from discrete locations but rather flows seamlessly through the space.

Positioned with millimeter precision in two arrays of 4 subwoofers (rear and front of the room), subwoofers act as emitters and absorbers for our Trinnov WaveForming technology.
Trinnov Waveforming is a fundamental shift in how bass interacts with the space. Instead of fighting room modes, low frequencies are actively shaped and controlled. The result is a physical, controlled and visceral bass!
Finally, an Ascendo DSP4 10K2 amplifier, delivering 10000 watts of controlled energy powers the 8 subs.
The Brain of the System
At the heart of thishigh-end ecosystem are the Trinnov Altitude32 processor and the Trinnov Amplitude16 power amplifier driving all surround and Atmos channels.
Together they deliver exceptional dynamic range from the most delicate whisper to explosive cinematic peaks without ever losing control or spatial accuracy. Every detail, every intention of the filmmaker is reproduced without compromise.
In total the system provides 63000 watts, supported by a dedicated power supply with three times 32 amps ensuring absolute stability under all conditions.

On the video side, the experience is enhanced by a Barco Heimdall Plus Cinemascope projector with Odin optics. Its image is powerful yet refined delivering exceptional brightness contrast and stability.
