Case Studies

In a bold move that redefines expectations for private cinema in Turkey, Phantom AVS has unveiled the nation’s first WaveForming-enabled showroom, built around Trinnov’s Altitude32 processor and engineered to deliver an uncompromising demonstration of reference-level home theater.

Phantom AVS’s Home Theater

A Vision for High-End Private Cinema in Turkey

When Selçuk Canara founded Phantom AVS, he had a clear mission: introduce the Turkish market to the kind of cinematic experiences typically reserved for global industry leaders.

“Such systems are nearly non-existent at this level in Turkey,” Canara explains. “This showroom is designed to raise the bar and lead the way for a new benchmark of excellence in our country.”

As the exclusive distributor of several world-renowned brands, Phantom AVS combines cutting-edge technology, architectural integration, and acoustic engineering into cohesive, high-performance solutions. With Trinnov integrated into his projects, Canara ensures his systems reflect the highest international standards while addressing the unique needs of his local market.

Turkey’s First Trinnov WaveForming Reference Showroom

The Phantom AVS showroom was designed from the ground up as a fully isolated, floating structure — a rare commitment in custom installation, especially in emerging markets.

With internal dimensions of 4.8 × 5.6 × 2.6 meters, the room was engineered with the intent to achieve CEDIA RP22 Level 4 performance standards. The space integrates a 11.8.12 channel layout, powered by the Trinnov Altitude32 processor and designed to demonstrate Trinnov’s full suite of technologies — including the groundbreaking WaveForming™.

“This project allows us to experience Trinnov technologies firsthand and push the boundaries of what’s possible in acoustics and engineering.

From the very first moment you enter, the room feels intentional. Every inch has been calibrated to serve a singular purpose: immersion.

System Overview and Design Choices

To deliver a truly reference experience, Phantom AVS made no compromises — selecting equipment for performance, synergy, and scalability.

Audio System

At the core of the installation is the Trinnov Altitude32, running in full 34-channel mode. Surround and height amplification is handled by Trinnov’s Amplitude8 and 8M, while high-current Crown DCI amplifiers power the LCRs and subwoofers.

“We chose Procella for their SPL headroom, stage depth, and tonal accuracy — all of which pair perfectly with Trinnov’s PEQ capabilities.”

The loudspeaker configuration includes:

  • LCR: 3 × Procella P815 (bi-amped)
  • Surrounds: 8 × P6V
  • Ceiling & Heights: 6 × P5V + 5 × P6
  • Voice of God: 1 × P5V (top center)
  • Subwoofers: 8 × Procella P18Si

Video System

On the visual side, a JVC NZ900 projector and 165” acoustically transparent CinemaScope screen deliver uncompromising image quality, enhanced by a MadVR Envy Extreme MKII video processor.

Infrastructure

  • Sources: Zidoo UHD5000, Zappiti Signature, Apple TV, Nvidia Shield

  • Power: Torus Power AVR-16A

  • Cables: 550m of Gold Kabel Flex 2×4mm

  • Acoustic treatment by Lava Acoustic and Artnovion

From hardware to calibration tools, each component was selected carefully to deliver consistent, high-level performance across the entire system.

The Impact of Trinnov WaveForming

The room didn’t make it easy. At just 5.6 meters deep, it introduced obvious low-frequency issues — particularly a deep null around 50 Hz. “We knew from the start this would be one of the biggest challenges,” says Canara.

WaveForming was brought in not as an add-on, but as a fundamental design pillar. Instead of relying on traditional correction, the team designed and placed the subwoofer arrays around what the technology required — not the other way around. Eight Procella P18Si subwoofers, precisely timed and aligned, now work in concert to shape how bass propagates through the room.

The result isn’t just more bass. It’s controlled and purposeful — bass that enhances the entire experience rather than overwhelming it. listening sessions don’t feel loud; they feel present.

Why Altitude32?

Some choices you make once and don’t question again. For Phantom AVS, selecting the Altitude32 fell into that category.

“There was really no debate. We needed 34 discrete outputs and absolute control over each one,” says Canara. “The Altitude was the only processor that could deliver.”

And it wasn’t just about quantity. Trinnov’s platform brought predictability and repeatability — critical for a room built to demonstrate excellence.

System behavior had to be reliable across sources, formats, and use cases.

“That’s where features like input source management, flexible routing, and the integration with Trinnov’s 3D microphone mattered just as much as the sound itself.”

Using the Optimizer as a Design Tool

By the time the speakers were installed, most of the hard choices had already been made. But calibration wasn’t a finishing touch — it was a continuation of the design process.

Canara doesn’t view Trinnov’s Optimizer as a black box. He describes it more like a dashboard.

“You’re not just correcting errors. You’re learning how the system behaves. You’re understanding why things sound the way they do.”

The detailed visual feedback became crucial when dealing with ceiling-mounted height channels. With only 2.6 meters of clearance, physical angles weren’t ideal — but the Optimizer helped turn theoretical compromises into practical strengths.

“It’s a process of tuning, yes, but also of discovery.”

The Listening Experience

There’s no sales pitch in the Phantom AVS showroom. No script. Visitors sit down, the lights dim, and then… sound.

Sit back, enjoy and relax

What happens next tends to speak for itself.

Canara puts it simply:

“They get it. After two or three minutes, they hear the difference — and more importantly, they feel it.”

The experience is designed to erase the system. No obvious transitions, no speakers calling attention to themselves.

Just space, movement, and physical energy that pulls the listener deeper into the story on screen.

Behind the Scenes: A Support System That Matters

WaveForming wasn’t plug-and-play. Nor was integrating eight subwoofers into a space that wasn’t originally meant for them. Some days, calibration turned into troubleshooting. Other times, choices made earlier in the build had to be re-examined.

The machine room also features a special guest, and super hero

That’s where Canara says Trinnov stood out.

“It didn’t matter that we were in Turkey and they were in France. They were always reachable. Not just reactive — proactive.”

The support team didn’t just answer questions; they helped validate ideas and test assumptions. For a distributor aiming to lead his market, that kind of collaboration is worth as much as the technology itself.

Conclusion: More Than a Showroom

This project isn’t just a place to demo equipment, it’s a signal. For Phantom AVS, it’s a way to show what’s possible when design, engineering, and commitment align. For the Turkish market, it’s a much-needed reference point.

The finished room and its lighting system

Selçuk Canara didn’t build this room to impress visitors for a few minutes but to change how they think about home cinema.

“We didn’t want to just recreate the cinema experience at home. We wanted to elevate it — and make sure people feel that.”

More than a showcase, it’s a working environment that helps clients understand performance in real terms. And for Canara, it’s a way to push the industry forward — by setting a standard others can see, hear, and learn from.
