AltitudeCI Is Shipping, and the Early Response Is Everything We Hoped For

Product News
Fresh from Integrated Systems Europe, where Trinnov powered seven active demonstrations including four driven by the AltitudeCI, we have something simple and wonderful to say: the AltitudeCI is shipping, it is landing in real rooms, and the people hearing it for the first time are telling us things we are genuinely proud to hear. We couldn't be more excited, or more eager for what comes next.
From Prototype to Field-Ready
The AltitudeCI was first demonstrated as a working prototype, and the response made clear that we had built something the market had been waiting for. Getting it from that demonstration to a product ready for real installations, one that meets Trinnov's standards for long-term stability and integration, required more time than we initially anticipated.

The reason is simple: the AltitudeCI is not an incremental update to the Altitude16 or Altitude32. It is a complete architectural rewrite, built from scratch around our core proprietary technologies: the Optimizer, WaveForming, 3D Remapping, and our real-time processing engine. We won't pretend the timeline was what we planned. But we are proud of what came out the other side, and the early listening sessions have made that very clear.
As with any new hardware-software combination of this complexity, some behaviors will continue to be refined as the product reaches more diverse real-world environments. We are moving through that process quickly. The AltitudeCI is already, in our view, the most capable fully-digital AV processor available. What the field will do is prove it.
One specific item: Roon certification is currently in progress. It is very close and will be delivered through a software update. All other major capabilities are operational. We will communicate as soon as it clears certification.
A Processor That Grows With the Project
The AltitudeCI introduces something genuinely new to the Altitude platform: scalable processing architecture.
For the first time, processing capacity is not fixed at the moment of purchase. Systems can begin with the channel count required today and expand incrementally, in two-channel steps, as the installation evolves. This is not a tiered software model or a reduced feature set. Every AltitudeCI ships with the full Trinnov processing stack. The scalability applies to channel capacity, allowing the processor to keep pace with the system over time.
This changes how an Altitude processor integrates into long-term project planning. It also reflects something we have always believed: the value of a Trinnov processor should not be measured at the moment of purchase, but over the course of its entire lifespan.
That philosophy is not new to us. It is a large part of what has made the Altitude16 and Altitude32 the recognized references they are today. Our software-based approach and commitment to regular, free updates means these processors have genuinely improved over the years, gaining capabilities their original owners never paid for. Like a good wine, they get better with time. The AltitudeCI is built on exactly the same commitment.
No other AV processor manufacturer operates this way consistently at this level. It fundamentally redefines what value means in this category.
For Existing and Incoming AltitudeCI Owners
The software release accompanying this announcement will be available tomorrow, February 24th. If you already have an AltitudeCI or are taking delivery of one shortly, check for update availability through the Trinnov app.
The new firmware release 2.1.1 will appear in the Trinnov app under the Version column.

We are hosting a public webinar on Tuesday, February 24th at 4pm CET and 4pm EST.
We will walk through the new interface and workflow, and take your questions.
Availability: Talk to Your Dealer Now
Demand for the AltitudeCI has been exceptionally strong, stronger than we anticipated, and that continues to be the case. If you have a project that requires one, we strongly recommend contacting your authorized Trinnov dealer as soon as possible to discuss availability and timing. Do not plan around units being immediately on the shelf.
Is the AltitudeCI the Right Processor for Your Project?
The AltitudeCI is a remarkable processor, but it is not the right answer for every installation, and we would rather guide you to the right choice than the wrong one.
The AltitudeCI‘s scalable licensing model makes it the natural choice when processing capacity needs to be flexible and when the system is designed to grow. It is ideal for installations where channel count may evolve over time, and for integrators who want to build systems around a forward-looking architecture.
However, if your project is built around traditional external power amplifiers, the Altitude16 and Altitude32 remain our dominant products and the better fit for the majority of high-performance home theater installations. They carry years of refinement, a proven track record in the field, and no availability constraints. They are exceptional processors by any standard, and they are ready to ship.
Not sure which Altitude processor is right for your project? We wrote a guide: Which Altitude Processor Fits Your Project?
The AltitudeCI is here. The early response has confirmed what we believed when we built it. We are working hard every day to make it everything it can be, and we are looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
