Over the past few years, Digital Television has gradually transformed audio content and production workflows, setting multichannel audio as new standard while broadcast guidelines started to mention loudness normalization.

This made today’s recording, mixing and broadcast supervision processes even more challenging. Sound engineers have to deal with multiple formats and complex mixes that need to be fully compliant with restrictive industry recommendations. In addition, contents must translate seamlessly for a majority of listeners, on various and disparate set top boxes and audio devices.

High performance monitoring is therefore critical but still remains very expensive considering all the different equipment and expertise required to be achieved.

Trinnov Audio Integrated Monitoring Solutions precisely answer this need by gathering speaker processor capabilities, monitor management, editable downmix matrix, dynamic range control, acoustic analysis, loudspeaker/room optimization and EBU R128 compliant metering in a single and affordable device, therefore ensuring simplified workflow and integration.

Trinnov Solutions are also designed to be 100% future-proof with easy hardware and software upgrades, including both existing and forthcoming software options.

Modular Hardware Architecture

Trinnov MC Processors are based on a hardware platform scalable from 4 to 64 channels. Analog and AES Processors can be configured from scratch with different combinations of Trinnov audio interfaces supplying a maximum of 16 simultaneous channels chosen from 16 Analog and 16 AES/EBU I/Os. Above 16 channels, the Trinnov Audio Core section can be replaced by a RME HDSP MADI interface that handles up to 64 digital I/Os.

Trinnov Audio hardware was designed with special attention to the audio quality: BurrBrown converters with 119dB dynamic range, true 24 bits/96 kHz operations, separate power supplies, jitter attenuation better than 50dB above 100Hz and native 64 bits floating point processing.

The choice of a custom embedded linux PC was made by Trinnov not only to provide high amount of processing power but also to ensure reliability as well as fast, easy and efficient technical support through the network.


The standard software package includes all the essential features of a professional speaker processor: gains, delays, crossovers, bass management, multiple manual FIR and graphic EQs, trims, routing matrix, monitor controller, clocking, presets recall, remote control, USB backup…Since version 3.5, the platform features an ATSC A/85 compliant Dynamic Range Control and a flexible Downmix engine to emulate any possible downstream playback.

The Optimizer is a software option that turns MC Processors into the most advanced Loudspeaker/Room correction system, taking the room acoustics into account to tune and align speakers in both frequency and time domains. Used in many prestigious music, mastering, TV and cinema studios around the world, the Optimizer made Trinnov’s reputation as leader in Active Acoustics. The Optimizer ensures a better mix translation between rooms and dramatically improves engineers working process by quickening the decision making during recording and mixing.

Reliable quality control is provided by the optional SmartMeter software, a comprehensive and unique multi-source timecode-aware metering toolkit that includes EBU-R128 compliant Loudness and True Peak metering, PPM, QPPM, vectorscope, correlation meters and surround analyzer. The SmartMeter helps you improving the consistency of loudness throughout your program with an extensive set of loudness meters (graphical, numerical and statistic representation of Loudness measurements) and features including a dynamic alert system with advanced profiling and real-time logging, SNMP traps, PDF reporting, session save and recall. Four different tools can be displayed simultaneously in a highly flexible graphical user interface.
